Research Data

Several data sets are available. Please click on the links given in the left sidebar to obtain the data files. The data sets are:

  • The mean velocity profiles measured in the Superpipe using Pitot probes for Reynolds numbers based on pipe diameter of about 35,000 to 35,000,000 (Zagarola and McKeon data).
  • The profiles of the longitudinal velocity fluctuations measured in the Superpipe using NSTAP for Reynolds numbers based on pipe diameter of about 50,000 to 6,000,000 (Hultmark and Vallikivi data).
  • The mean velocity and turbulence profiles obtained in a flat plate, incompressible boundary layer for friction Reynolds numbers  of about 3,000 to 70,000 (Vallikivi data).
  • The mean velocity and turbulence profiles obtained in a flat plate, incompressible boundary layer for Reynolds numbers based on momentum thickness of about 5,000 to 13,000 (Smith data).
  • The mean velocity profiles obtained using Pitot probes in flat plate, incompressible boundary layers for Reynolds numbers based on momentum thickness of about 11,100 to 67,000 (ICET data).  Different Pitot tube corrections are also explored.
  • The mean velocity and turbulence profiles obtained in a flat plate, incompressible boundary layer for Reynolds numbers based on momentum thickness of about 697 to 2889 (Erm data).  Some limited spectra are also available.
  • Nikuradse’s smooth and rough pipe data (Nikuradse data).
  • Mean velocity and turbulence data obtained at the Princeton Gasdynamics Lab at Mach 2.9 for 8, 16 and 20 degree compression corners, a reattaching shear layer, two concavely curved walls, and an adverse pressure gradient (Mach 2.9 Data).
